1. Quick Online Quote: With TICs online trade-in calculator you only need to answer a few questions about your current device to get a quick obligation free quote.
2. Immediate Credit: If you accept the quote, you’ll get your JB Hi-Fi Gift Card via email immediately. No need to wait until you’ve sent your old device back. For some devices you may get a JB Coupon (which you can use to get discounts off identified new JB Hi-Fi Products) instead of or in addition to a JB Hi-Fi Gift Card¹.
3. Upgrade Faster: You can use your JB Hi-Fi Gift Card and/or JB Coupon to upgrade to a new device faster - in-store or online².
4. Free Returns: Send in your old device within 7** days. The return process is simple and free.

Quote checklist
The device you want to trade-in
TIC will need to know the make and model of your device, and for phones they will also need the 15-digit unique number that identifies your phone. See the instructions on how to find this here. For other Electronics and Appliances, the serial number will need to be entered - this can be found at the back or the bottom of your device.
A valid NZ credit card
Your credit card acts as security for the upfront trade-in credit we will send you immediately. As part of the Trade-In transaction, you will be required to provide your payment card so that we can process a trade-in security pre-authorisation for the value of the JB Hi-Fi Trade-In eGift Card issued to you.
A physical photo ID
For privacy and security reasons we will use your Photo ID and selfie to verify your identity.
JB Hi-Fi Trade-in program is operated by TIC (Reverse Logistics) NZ Limited. Second hand dealer 23-113691. Participant must be NZ resident aged 18+ with trade-in device purchased in NZ. TIC is not required to make an offer on your device. The JB Hi-Fi Gift Card given in exchange for Trade-in is subject to Gift Card T&Cs. Pre-authorisation will be taken from participants credit card. Things to know
How BONUS top-up coupons work: Once you've completed a Trade-in you'll get a JB Hi-Fi Gift Card and/or JB Coupon, which you can use to buy products from JB Hi-Fi NZ. We may also run promotions giving you a BONUS top-up coupon you can redeem to get a discount on additional selected products. If available, BONUS top-up coupon will be sent to the same email address used for your Trade-in.
